He’s a long-limbed hitter with obvious strength projection to go with quiet hands, a compact swing and consistent high-quality contact skills. He has a mature approach at the plate and has consistently walked more than he’s struck out in high school."

Prospects 1500 - July 8th: "Spangler is a raw prospect like most high school prospects, but the Stanford commit has shown flashes with his 6-foot-3, 195 lb frame."

MLB -July : "Spangler is more polish than flash with a simple, solid approach at the plate, finding the barrel consistently. While he can be susceptible at times for breaking stuff down, he has excellent zone awareness and shows a willingness to use the middle of the field or go the other way. He can get to his pull side power at times and more thump should come as he fills out his frame and if he starts committing to getting the ball in the air more. "

Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "Spangler is a polished hitter who doesn’t whiff much despite some length to his swing, with a ton of projection to his 6-foot-3 frame that could point to future power. He takes a modest stride in the box and keeps his front side closed long enough to stay in the middle of the field, although there might be a benefit to him striding further and trying to pull the ball more once he’s filled out physically. "
