Landon Thome - Prospect Profile
Baseball America - July 8th: "Thome is the son of Hall of Fame first baseman Jim Thome, and while Landon doesn’t have the same size or physicality as his father, he does stand out as one of the most impressive pure hitters in the 2026 class. A 6-foot, 185-pound lefthanded hitter and shortstop, Thome has a relaxed and slightly open setup in the box with thunderous hands that fly through the zone with an uphill bat path and steep finish."MLB -July : "Thome turns his left-handed swing loose with maximum intent but has the pitch recognition and bat-to-ball skills to make a lot of hard contact. His stroke has loft geared to drive balls in the air and he has tapped into more power as he has improved his strength and bat speed."
Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "Landon isn’t going to stick at short, probably moving to third base. As a hitter, he’s pretty upright and is clearly looking to lift the ball, potentially growing into 25-homer power. He hits best when he gets his arms extended, so he likes the ball middle-down and had some difficulty when pitchers attacked him in the upper third at showcases."
