Baseball America - July 8th: "Jacob is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound righthanded hitter and shortstop who is a more dynamic player than his brother was at the same stage. He has shown an advanced offensive approach at Miami’s Gulliver Prep, and as a senior put together his best offensive season. Lombard has a low-maintenance swing with impressive bat speed and a slightly uphill finish."

Prospects 1500 - July 8th: "Lombard will continue to add power and speed to his 6’3” frame as he develops and grows within a MLB training and fitness program."

MLB -July : "A 6-foot-3 premium athlete at a premium position, Lombard is a right-handed hitter with plenty of juice in his bat. He has the acumen to be a plus hitter in the future, though he did have some swing-and-miss on fastballs up in the zone over the summer, with a bat path that wasn’t matching the velocity he was facing. He’s already added strength, and speed, of late, with potential plus power."

Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "He has some of the best pure tools in the draft class, college or high school. He’s a 70 runner with plus power, working with a quick, direct swing that is geared to pull the ball in the air. His path to the ball is direct and he’s very rotational, getting his lower half involved to help drive the ball, although he can get a little uphill on pitches down."
