Hunter Dietz - Prospect Profile
Baseball America - July 8th: "At 6-foot-6, 235 pounds, Dietz has plenty of physicality and attacks hitters from a high release point and three-quarters slot. He has a plus fastball that averages 95 mph and has been up to 98, and he has added plenty of power to his go-to breaking pitch over the years. He throws an upper-80s bullet slider with more power than big movement, but it’s a no-doubt plus offering that he has used to generate a miss rate north of 50% against both lefties and righties."Prospects 1500 - July 8th: "His 6’6” length and consistent arm slot make his 97-98 fastball jump at hitters. Dietz might have the best off-speed stuff on the board; mastering a three-pitch mix of curveballs, cutters, and sliders."
MLB -July : "His performance during fall practice was so spectacular that some evaluators believed Dietz was the best college left-hander in the 2026 Draft and he has cemented that status with a strong and healthy spring. He works at 94-96 mph and reaches 98 with his fastball, displaying impressive backspin and carry at times and natural cut at others."
Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "After the surgeries, he’s come back with a new delivery, striding a shorter distance towards the plate, with his arm late relative to his front foot landing, although that latter point has not given him any problems whatsoever in throwing quality breaking stuff. He was still 94-95 in the seventh inning of his last outing of the season, which is good, and ended up throwing 116 pitches in that game, which is not."
