Chris Hacopian - Prospect Profile
Jim Callis - MLB - September 16th: "Texas A&M has more players (three) on this list than any other school, starting with Hacopian, who transferred after slashing .375/.502/.656 with 14 homers and more than twice as many walks (40) as strikeouts (19) as a Maryland sophomore. While his hitting ability stands out more than his pop, the latter is at least average and will play at third base, where he's likely headed because his instincts outshine his tools and quickness at shortstop."Joel Reuter - Bleacher Report - August 20th: "The top shortstop in the transfer portal following the 2025 season, Hacopian joins Texas A&M where he will be tasked with replacing third-round pick Kaeden Kent on the Aggies infield. He hit .347/.465/.614 with 29 home runs and 103 RBI in 107 games over two seasons at Maryland, and despite a lackluster showing in the Cape Cod League this summer, he has the tools to be one of the first college middle infielders off the board."
Jonathan Mayo - MLB - July 17th: "After two big years at Maryland (.347/.465/.614 and 29 home runs combined), Hacopian is taking his bat to Texas A&M for 2026. He can drive the ball everywhere with power, and while he might end up needing to move to third base, he has the run-producing power potential to profile well there."
Baseball America - July 16th: "Hacopian has a strong swing with big-time bat speed and has shown the ability to use the entire field, though his highest quality of contact comes to the pull side. He particularly feasts on heaters, and this spring he ran a 95% contact rate against all fastballs. Hacopian ran an overall chase rate of just 20% and very few of his swings came outside of the “shadow zone.”"
