Chris Hacopian - Prospect Profile
Baseball America - July 8th: "He hit .347 with 29 home runs in two seasons with Maryland, then transferred to Texas A&M, where he slid from shortstop to second base and slashed .319/.405/.578 with 11 home runs in 42 games heading into regionals. Hacopian is physically mature with a 6-foot-1, 210-pound frame, broad shoulders and lots of present strength."Prospects 1500 - July 8th: "Some scouts put Hacopian’s hit tool at the top of college players in this draft. In his entire college career, there isn’t a season with more strikeouts than walks. The pitch identification and barrel rate will fast-track Hacopian through the minor leagues."
MLB -July : "Hacopian can make hitting look easy because he has advanced feel for the barrel and control of the strike zone, and some clubs believe he has the best bat in the college ranks. Though he has a busy setup, his right-handed stroke always seems to be on time and produces consistent hard contact, especially against fastballs."
Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "Hacopian played one game over the span of a month near the start of the season due to a lower back injury, but didn’t miss a weekend after his return, hitting .319/.405/.578 in about two-thirds of a season’s worth of playing time as the Aggies’ DH. He still showed a very good line-drive swing and an excellent contact rate, with an in-zone whiff rate of just 8 percent, even though he wasn’t moving as well as he did prior to the back issue."
