Ace Reese - Prospect Profile

Baseball America - July 8th: "At 6-foot-4, 220 pounds, Reese has a pro body with lots of strength, and he takes vicious lefthanded hacks with great bat speed and easy plus raw power. He has an open, slightly crouched stance at the plate with an uphill bat path that’s geared to get the ball in the air to the pull side. It’s a swing that should allow him to easily tap into his power with a wood bat, though there are some questions about the sort of pure hitter he’ll be."

Prospects 1500 - July 8th: "An advanced college bat with great combination of contact and power. The biggest question will be if Reese stays at third base or gets MiLB time at first or even outfield."

MLB -July : "Reese's carrying tool is his plus power, which he generates with the strength in his 6-foot-4, 220-pound frame and the bat speed and leverage in his left-handed stroke. He can homer to any part of a ballpark and pounds both lefties and righties."

Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "He’s very strong and is swinging to do damage, but he expands the zone too easily, with a 29 percent chase rate overall and 19 percent on pitches well out of the strike zone. He’s also pretty susceptible to breaking stuff from lefties and changeups from righties. He’s 50/50 to stick at third base and might just end up at first, although he did play some corner outfield on the Cape."
