Nolan Schubart - Prospect Profile
MLB.com - July 1st: "While Schubart is pretty much a one-tool guy, prodigious left-handed power is always in demand, and he owns plus-plus raw pop thanks to his combination of bat speed, massive strength and a stroke designed to launch balls in the air. He can drive the ball out of any part of any ballpark and will take walks when pitchers refuse to challenge him."Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "Schubart has plus power, but the hit tool is a real question, as he continues to strike out too often and saw his average drop to exactly .300 this year from .370 as a sophomore. He doesn’t hit breaking stuff, with a 40 percent whiff rate on sliders (per data from Synergy), and whiffed a third of the time on fastballs 94 and up."
Baseball America - June 25th: "He boasts easy double-plus raw power, with exit velocities that rival the top hitters in the country, and is capable of launching balls to all fields with seemingly minimal effort. While Schubart has run consistently low contact rates and can be beaten within the zone, he rarely chases and has a strong feel for the strike zone."
Tyler Jennings - Just Baseball - March 24th: "An uber-physical specimen, Schubart has some of the best power in the entire class and put together an outstanding campaign with Team USA this summer. He is incredibly strong and is an imposing figure in the left-handed box, stepping in at 6’5, 234 pounds and there’s still projection remaining to his extra-large frame."
Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - March 10th: "Huge exit velocities, huge physicality, lefthanded college hitter. Check, check, check. He’s not the athlete that Spencer Jones is, but maybe his consistently strong walk rates offer a balance against his swing-and-miss tendencies and give him a higher offensive floor?"
