MLB.com - July 1st: "He has good rhythm at the plate, but his timing is often off as he is prone to guessing too much to try to get to his power. He has the ability to get to it naturally and there are those who feel once he trusts that, some of the timing issues could be corrected and he’d be able to cut down on the swing-and-miss."

Baseball America - June 25th: "While Pike has potential on both sides of the ball, his upside might be a tick higher on the mound—where he’s also a bit more polished. He throws a fastball in the 90-95 mph range and has been up to 97, with tons of spin on the pitch and both a four-seam and two-seam variant."
