Kruz Schoolcraft - Prospect Profile

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - July 8th: "The biggest risk to end up not signing in this group is Schoolcraft. There are a handful of teams that I think would pay him a bonus in line with slots in the twenties (which I think is the asking price), but there are also a number of teams that aren't close to that because of concerns about his breaking ball."

MLB.com - July 1st: "As a pitcher, he's up to 97 mph with his fastball, with the only knock against it a relative lack of spin and carry, so right now it can play a little straight. He has a tight, traditional two-plane slider, thrown in the low-80s that has carry and teeth, and some believe his feel for spin with that pitch should allow him to add more to his heater."

Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "He’s been up to 98, but the velocity is inconsistent and he’s had outings where he’s been in the low 90s. The consensus from scouts on his slider is that it’s not there yet, although he can flash plus with it, as the pitch tends to be flat — what we used to call “sweepy” before the term sweeper came into vogue — and doesn’t have a lot of power to it."

Baseball America - June 25th: "He has impressive body control and coordination for his size with a delivery he repeats well and elite extension that should allow his entire mix to play up. He throws a fastball that sits in the low 90s and has been up to 97 mph and has done a nice job throwing the pitch for strikes to set up his secondaries."

Tyler Jennings - Just Baseball - March 24th: "The change-up has high upside, too, as it tumbles heavily from right-handed bats and features great feel and velocity separation. As he learns to sync up his frame more, expect more strikes. He’s also a power-hitting first baseman with legit feel for the barrel and loud power potential given the projection."

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - March 10th: "He’s got a massive frame, he’s athletic, he has a clean and balanced finish with elite extension and he’s already throwing 98 mph. I agree that the changeup is ahead of the slider now, but I’m pretty confident he’ll start ripping plus breaking balls once he’s working with pro pitching development."
