JoJo Parker - Prospect Profile
Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - July 8th: "Parker is not the biggest, strongest or fastest but could be one of the rare players who is such a good hitter that it floats his whole profile, helping him get to all of his solid-average raw power (roughly 20 homers annually), and then if he ends up at second/third base long term, he'd offer some of the upside of a high school player with some of the certainty of a college player."MLB.com - July 1st: "Parker has a chance to be a plus hitter with 20-25 homers per season. He has a sound left-handed swing, manages the strike zone well and employs a gap-to-gap approach. He shows some feel for driving balls in the air and is posting more impressive exit velocities as he continues to gain muscle."
Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "He does have a habit of drifting over his front side on some pitches, and that is at least one reason why his evident strength hasn’t translated into much in-game power. He’s a shortstop for now with good hands and a plus arm, way more likely to end up at third base as his range is average at best."
Baseball America - June 25th: "He’s a strong athlete with a powerful 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame. He has a picturesque lefthanded swing and a nose for the barrel. Parker has a case as one of the best pure hitters in the class, with real power to go with his polished hit tool."
Tyler Jennings - Just Baseball - March 24th: "Parker employs a narrow stance with an open front leg before expanding his lower half, which helps him coil his body and possess good hip/shoulder separation. His barrel flies through the zone as a result and there’s excellent barrel feel with an emphasis for hitting the gaps."
Keith Law - The Athletic - March 4th: "Parker’s one of the best pure bats in the high school class, with a tremendous history of contact thanks to a short swing and great bat speed, although his future power is a wide-open question. He’s got the size and strength to hit for power, but the way his hands work he’s not using his lower half that much, trading some of that for those very high contact rates."
