Ethan Petry
Ht/Wt: 6' 4"/230 lbs
Position: OF
Team: South Carolina

Ethan Petry - Prospect Profile

MLB.com - July 1st: "Petry generates plus-plus raw power with massive strength and leverage from his 6-foot-4, 235-pound frame and an uphill right-handed stroke, and he's capable of homering to any part of any ballpark. The caveat is that he chases pitches excessively, swinging and missing inside and outside of the zone, though he will take walks when opponents pitch around him."

Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "Petry is a power-over-hit first baseman/outfielder who hit 20-plus homers in each of his first two years at South Carolina, but with high strikeout totals, including 73 as a sophomore (25.2 percent). He’s seen his strikeout rate and power output drop this year, and he’s been especially bad against SEC pitching, with just a .388 slugging percentage in conference play."

Baseball America - June 25th: "He swings with plenty of intent and uses a modified toe-tap that leads to a normal stride with a righthanded swing that can get a bit lengthy. Petry’s double-plus raw power is among the best in the 2025 class and leads to eye-opening top-end exit velocities as well as home runs to all fields."

Tyler Jennings - Just Baseball - March 24th: "Defensively, Petry has gotten opportunities in a corner outfield spot with South Carolina, though his route-running can get adventurous and many believe his physicality and lack of speed will relegate him to a first base role. He’s had opportunities at third base this fall, though scouts have noted clunky footwork at the position."
