Cody Bowker - Prospect Profile
MLB.com - July 1st: "Bowker usually operates at 90-95 mph with his fastball, but it's not velocity that makes it special. He uses a drop-and-drive delivery and a low arm slot, producing unusually high spin from an unusually low release height, which makes his heater appear to be rising more than most."Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "Bowker comes from a low three-quarters slot, working 92-95 with excellent ride on the pitch. He has a 55 slider, enough to see a pretty good reliever floor here. He throws a cutter and changeup, both 45s, and probably should junk the cutter entirely as hitters have gotten to it — it’s one of the biggest reasons he allowed 14 homers in 72 innings this year."
Baseball America - June 25th: "His 92-94 mph fastball will touch 95, but the pitch plays up thanks to its unique shape and ride through the zone. Bowker primarily operates with a fastball-slider-cutter mix, though the slider and cutter can blend together at times in the low-to-mid 80s."
