Cameron Appenzeller
Ht/Wt: 6' 6"/180 lbs
Position: LHP
Team: Glenwood HS (IL)

Cameron Appenzeller - Prospect Profile

MLB.com - July 1st: "Appenzeller boosted his fastball from the mid-80s as a sophomore to the upper 80s as a junior to the low 90s last summer, topping out at 94 mph, but then operated at 84-89 this spring. He can generate carry on a four-seamer and armside run and sink on a two-seamer."

Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "He’s been up to 94 before, more 88-92 this spring, and can spin a slider well enough to see a future plus pitch there. He also starred as a point guard in hoops and is apparently a pretty good golfer too, which is evidence of his athleticism but also makes it unsurprising that he’s a little more raw on the mound."

Baseball America - June 25th: "He throws his fastball in the 88-92 mph range and touches 94 with solid life and command and has a pair of secondaries that flash above-average. Appenzeller’s slider is a 78-84 mph breaking ball that features solid biting action and two-plane movement at its best."

Tyler Jennings - Just Baseball -March 24th: "At 6’5, 185 pounds, Appenzeller is insanely projectable and projects to be one of the best southpaws in the class. Appenzeller’s delivery is incredibly easy and he oozes athleticism on the bump, creating fast arm speed and a slingy action to a lower release."

Prep Baseball Draft HQ - March 19th: "That athleticism on the mound makes Appenzeller deliver the ball with one of the most aesthetically pleasing deliveries in the country – it’s just an easy, fluid move to the plate. He’s 6-foot-5, 185 pounds, and he’s not yet thrown this spring as Illinois baseball has only just begun and his basketball season just ended over the weekend."

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - March 10th: "ppenzeller is the second-best lefty in the class at the moment. Good fastball, great slider, solid changeup with touch and feel and a frame that should add plenty of weight."

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - February 21st: "I have Appenzeller as the top prep arm over Hernandez due to projection. Appenzeller is a lanky 6-foot-5 with a lower release and fastball/breaker combo similar to Jamie Arnold's mix."
