Caden Bodine - Prospect Profile

MLB.com - July 1st: "A switch-hitter who's equally proficient from both sides of the plate, Bodine has some of the best contact skills in the Draft. He has tremendous feel for the barrel and doesn't try to do too much, focusing on controlling the strike zone and drilling line drives from gap to gap."

Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "It’s less a matter of plate discipline than one of not swinging; he swings less than 40 percent of the time, although when he does swing, he rarely whiffs, especially on fastballs. The result is that he’s walked more than twice as often as he’s struck out, but this year, with the Division 1-wide drop in power, he’s gone from hitting 20 homers in his first two years to just three in 2025."

Baseball America - June 25th: "Bodine has walked more than he has struck out, and both his overall contact (89%) and in-zone contact (94%) rates are some of the best in the country. Bodine has excellent plate coverage with a simple, level stroke from both sides of the plate. While he has exceptional barrel control and contact skills, his modest power has largely evaporated."

Tyler Jennings - Just Baseball - March 24th: "While there’s not a ton of upside to further tap into, he is one of the most “major league ready” bats in the class. Bodine’s barrel awareness and bat-to-ball skills are top of the charts from both sides of the plate."

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - March 10th: "Bodine has shown some of the best pure contact skills in the class and it sounds like there are some scouts who view him as pretty close or even to Luke Stevenson on the catching side. So having him here in the middle of the first round with him and Ike Irish makes a ton of sense to me."

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - February 21st: "I'll likely jumble Bodine, Stevenson and Irish during the spring as they're the top college catchers in the class. Bodine has standout on-base skills, Stevenson is well-rounded and Irish is more power-forward."
