MLB.com - July 1st: "Obermueller works from a low arm slot that produces outstanding metrics on his fastball and slider. He sits at 91-94 mph and can reach 98 with his heater, showing the ability to create carry, run or sink from an unusually flat approach angle."

Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "Obermueller was draft-eligible last year, and declined to sign when the Rangers took him in the 19th round, so he’s back in the draft this year and should go on Day 1 after a much better junior year. Obermueller has been up to 98 and sits 92-94 with a 55 slider that’s very horizontal, and given his low arm slot it’s not surprising that he’s very east-west."

Baseball America - June 25th: "A slight-framed lefty listed at 5-foot-11, 150 pounds, Obermueller works from a tricky low slot and throws a sinking fastball in the low 90s. He’s a heavy groundball pitcher in general, but he added a bit more top end velocity early in 2025 and was up to 97 mph."
