MLB.com - July 1st: "In his first season with ASU, he showed the ability to drive the ball to all fields, with most of his over-the-fence pop showing up more to his pull side. His swing-and-miss and tendency to chase, especially against softer stuff, was a bit of a concern."

Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "He has power and some patience, but is a below-average runner and is limited to left field between that and fringy arm strength. It’s an all-fields approach with a short path to the ball, showing 55 power rather than 60 or more because his swing lacks much leverage."

Baseball America - June 25th: "Compton has tons of strength and power packed into his barrel-chested, 6-foot-1, 225-pound frame. He has a relatively short and compact lefthanded swing that can generate easy plus raw power and 90th percentile exit velocities around 110 mph. While Compton’s power is obvious, his approach can often be a bit too boom or bust."
