Aiva Arquette
Ht/Wt: 6' 5"/220 lbs
Position: 2B/SS
Team: Oregon State

Aiva Arquette - Prospect Profile

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - July 8th: "At 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, Arquette still has a chance to stick at shortstop, though it would be more as an acceptable, average defender, and most teams like to have an above-average defender at the position. The other question on Arquette is tied to his bat-to-ball and pitch selection, which are both average at best, and that makes some sense given his size and big power."

MLB.com - July 1st: "While minor wrist surgery cut into his fall with his new school, the right-handed hitter showed he has easy raw power to tap into, with more to come, and he's used it in games consistently this spring. He routinely barrels the ball with good bat speed and a fluid swing, giving him the chance to be an above-average hitter with above-average power, and he could hit 20-25 homers annually as a big leaguer."

Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "He’s an agile shortstop with excellent hands and a plus arm. However, at 6-foot-5 and I’d guess at least 10 more pounds than his listed 220, he’d already be one of the biggest shortstops in MLB history, and I’d bet heavily that he goes to third base."

Baseball America - June 25th: "Arquette is a free and easy righthanded swinger whose above-average bat speed from his strong frame leads to comfortably plus raw power. He has the ability to drive the baseball to all fields and has always shown impressive pull-side power that has come with its share of swing-and-miss tendencies."

Tyler Jennings - Just Baseball - March 24th: "The contact skills are strong too, handling velocity and spin well. He has ironed out some woes with the chase rate, though there is some swing-and-miss to his game at this moment."

David Seifert - Prep Baseball Draft HQ - March 19th: "Although his best pop is to his pull side, Arquette uses all fields well with a balanced and compact swing that has good extension through the ball. When fooled, he keeps his hands back and has the ability to shoot it the other way."

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - March 10th: "He’s got a big league body with great bat speed and plus power potential. Despite his 6-foot-5 frame there are a number of scouts who think he’s got a chance to stick at shortstop."

Keith Law - The Athletic - March 4th: "Coming into this year, he was a low-walk, high-contact guy who didn’t whiff much at all but also tended to go out of the zone too often; he’s cut way down on that chase this year so far, with just a marginal increase in whiff rate (20 percent to 22 percent) so far."

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - February 21st: "Arquette doesn't have a true plus tool, but he's an infielder with above-to-plus power and feel to get to it along with roughly average on-base skills."
