MLB.com - July 1st: "Because of his feel for pitching, the 6-foot-5 Watson has a pretty high floor and it's not difficult to imagine a higher ceiling as he adds strength to that frame. He's typically in the low-90s with his fastball, but has been up to 95 mph with more consistent velocity to come."

Keith Law - The Athletic - July 1st: "The slider is his best pitch, mid-80s with some tilt, and he can move it around the zone effectively. It’s a higher slot and he doesn’t have a ton of deception; otherwise he has a clear starter profile, with plenty of projection left on his 6-5 frame to end up sitting at the top end of his current velocity range."

Baseball America - June 25th: "Watson has a four-pitch mix that’s led by a 90-94 mph fastball that has been up to 96. He throws both a four-seam and two-seam variation and complements the fastballs with a solid blend of secondaries. His loudest is a mid-80s slider that has turned into a consistent swing-and-miss pitch."

Tyler Jennings - Just Baseball - March 24th: "What was an upper-80s heater last year became a low-90s sinker that has gotten up to 96 MPH in shorter spurts, boring in heavily on the hands of right-handed hitters. There’s a four-seam with modest carry, as well. Watson’s breaking ball has gotten better, too."
