Baseball America - July 1st: "He’s a confident defender with all of the tools and skills to be an impact defender. His hands are soft, quick and reliable. He moves well to both sides and also coming in on slow rollers in front of him, with both a quick exchange and above-average arm strength that let him make tough plays from deep in the hole."

MLB.com - July 1st: "One of the best defensive shortstops in the 2024 high school class, Sanford has range to both sides and solid-to-plus arm strength. There's no doubt he can stay at the position, but his athleticism and tools would enable him to play almost anywhere on the diamond in a utility role."

Prospects Live - May 29th: "He's a bit of a slasher at the dish presently, though as he adds weight and loft, he'll begin to tap more into his power. It's a gorgeous left-handed swing that he utilizes to spray the ball to all fields and he's mature at the plate discipline wise."

Joe Doyle - Future Star Series - March 18th: "Previously a slasher type, Sanford appears to have grown into a significant amount of bat speed this winter and has begun showing more thunder at the plate, though he doesn't profile to ever grow into a slugger. Sanford has a strong, wiry frame and athletic actions on the dirt, all of which point to a future staying up the middle of the field."
