Seaver King - Prospect Profile

Joel Reuter - Bleacher Report - July 7th: "After two terrific seasons at D-II Wingate University, he transferred to Wake Forest for his junior season and hit .308/.377/.577 with 14 doubles, 16 home runs and 64 RBI, showing more playable power than he had in the past."

Ayrton Ostly - USA Today - July 4th: "King may end up at shortstop initially but he could develop at multiple spots on defense. At the plate, he needs to improve his discipline but racked up 78 hits this season."

Baseball America - July 1st: "6-foot, 195-pound righthanded hitter with a free-swinging approach and electric hands, King stands out for his pure bat speed and uncanny ability to maneuver the barrel to all areas of the zone—and beyond—with impact. He produces shocking top-end exit velocity numbers for a player of his size but often gets himself into bad counts by being overly aggressive or lacking a nuanced plan at the plate."

MLB.com - July 1st: "King excels at putting the ball in play with a compact right-handed stroke geared for hitting line drives to all fields. He needs to improve his plate discipline, however, because he swings and chases too much, making a lot of weak contact and cutting into his walk totals."

Prospects Live - May 29th: "King doesn't strikeout often and gets a lot of barrel to ball, but he also doesn't walk a ton either and the chase rates are a bit too high. He's put his defensive versatility to use for Tom Walter's club, flashing great range with a strong arm at shortstop while also holding down a center field job, where his speed allows him to cover plenty of ground and he has quality defensive chops."

Keith Law - The Athletic - May 22nd: "King’s played four positions for the Deacs, with third base his most frequently played spot. He’s more than capable in center and I think you could send him out as a shortstop. He does tend to expand the zone too often, as he’s a good enough bad-ball hitter to get away with it now."

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - May 8th: "King has been rising and is now probably the consensus top position player prospect outside of the top 10. He's a plus-plus runner that might be a shortstop and has been very productive at the plate despite a swing that needs to be toned down a bit."
