Position: RHP
Team: York Community HS (IL)

Ryan Sloan - Prospect Profile

Joel Reuter - Bleacher Report - July 7th: "Illinois prep Ryan Sloan has been a popular name climbing up draft boards the last few weeks, and with a strong 6'5", 220-pound frame, an electric fastball and a strong track record on the showcase circuit that helps erase concerns about his quality of competition, this could be his ceiling."

Ayrton Ostly - USA Today - July 4th: "Sloan has a very good fastball and a surprisingly advanced changeup for a prep pitcher. "

Baseball America - July 1st: "He touched 96 mph last summer and got up to 99 this spring for his suburban Chicago high school. He throws one of the best fastballs by prep pitchers in this year’s draft. Sloan pitches from a three-quarters arm slot and should have a consistently plus fastball that sits in the mid 90s and gets into the triple digits in the near future."

MLB.com - July 1st: "Sloan shows the ability to manipulate a 93-96 mph fastball that tops out at 99, as he can ride and run it at the top of the zone, cut it in on left-handers or sink it for ground balls. He has a more advanced changeup than most prepsters, throwing hitters off balance with a mid-80s cambio that fades and sinks."

Prospects Live - May 29th: "The off-speed stuff in Sloan's arsenal are very strong, led by a low-80s slider with serious teeth. He's had a ton of success with the pitch, showcasing a ton of sweeping action and garnering plenty of whiffs in the process."

Keith Law - The Athletic - May 22nd: "Sloan has hit 100 mph this spring with a plus slider, with an athletic and strong 6-4 frame that should allow him to maintain plus velocity deep into games. It’s a powerful delivery where he’s on time and online to the plate, pitching better to his arm side than his glove side."
