Baseball America - July 1st: "He posted a 2.29 ERA in 16 starts and 106 innings with a 35.9% strikeout rate and minuscule 3.3% walk rate. Johnson works from a high-effort delivery that features an overhead windup, low three-quarters slot and short, slinging arm action that comes with plenty of recoil and head whack in his finish."

MLB.com - July 1st: "In an unusual look for a starter, Johnson uses his low-80s slider nearly half the time, but it's a weapon with plenty of lateral movement and he locates it well. His fastball can hit 100 mph and usually parks at 92-96 with arm-side run, though it doesn't dodge as many bats as might be expected."

Joe Doyle - Future Star Series - March 18th: "The fastball has already been up 100 mph, but more commonly floats a tick below that. It's a bit of a dead-zone fastball, though at its best there's arm-side dart and some sinking action into the right-handed batters box."
