PJ Morlando
Ht/Wt: 6 '3"/200 lbs
Position: OF
Team: Summerville HS (SC)

PJ Morlando - Prospect Profile

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - March 18th: "Morlando is perhaps the best pure hitter in a light high school class. In our preseason best tools balloting from MLB scouting directors he was voted first in pure hit tool and power, though a likely corner outfield or first base role means teams will have to have plenty of conviction on those offensive tools."

Joe Doyle - Future Star Series - March 18th: "Morlando has long had the bat speed to out-slug his peers, but it's his mature approach and willingness to take the walk that has scouts raising eyebrows. The raw power here is already huge and should comfortably sit in the plus category at the highest level."

MLB.com - March 8th: "Morlando's best tool is his plus power, which he generates with the bat speed and loft in his left-handed stroke and the strength and leverage in his 6-foot-3, 198-pound frame. He also has advanced feel to hit, showing the willingness to work counts and to make two-strike adjustments."

Keith Law - The Athletic - March 7th: "Morlando shows plus power with very strong hands and excellent bat speed, getting to it even though he starts with an absurdly wide stance that doesn’t let him rotate his hips much at all to use his legs for more juice."

Aram Leighton - Just Baseball - February 15th: "He’s wide and stacked on the backside with a minimal stride, using a coil into his backside and a subtle lift of his heel to get to his launch position. He is consistently on time and repeats his moves, resulting in plenty of contact."
