Owen Paino - Prospect Profile

Baseball America - July 1st: "Paino doesn’t have elite bat speed but has the size and strength to hit plenty of home runs at physical maturity and has always shown the sort of approach and swing decisions that should lead to strong on-base percentages. His offensive upside will ultimately depend on the quality of his hit tool, which is one of the biggest questions scouts now have with him"

MLB.com - July 1st: "Paino is a big, strong-bodied shortstop with a chance to have a ton of impact on both sides of the ball. He has excellent bat-to-ball skills with rhythm, timing and balance to his swing. He’s more of a line-drive, gap-to-gap type of hitter now, but it’s easy to dream on him getting to his raw power as he matures at the next level. He’s an average runner with excellent instincts."

Joe Doyle - Future Star Series - March 18th: "Paino has long arms and legs, but he glides on the dirt. The arm strength and hands will work well at either shortstop or third base. It's mostly only an average throwing arm, maybe solid average, but the whole operation could work at shortstop, at least in an average capacity."
