Kellon Lindsey - Prospect Profile

Ayrton Ostly - USA Today - July 4th: "Lindsey is a top-tier athlete who lacks hit power at this point but makes up for it with strike zone awareness and decision making."

Baseball America - July 1st: "Because of Lindsey’s 80-grade speed, there was some thought a year ago that he could slide from the infield and play an above-average defensive center field. This spring, he has shown all the hands, actions and arm strength necessary to stick at shortstop as an above-average defender in the long run."

MLB.com - July 1st: "He has a short, right-handed swing geared to making contact and sending line drives up the middle. He may never be a huge power guy, and he does need to add strength, but as he’s started to catch the ball out front, he’s impacting the ball more, with some pop to come."

Keith Law - The Athletic - May 22nd: "Nobody wants to miss on the next Trea Turner, and Lindsey looks the part — it’s a similar build, 80 speed, good hands, a good right-handed swing, etc. Turner had three years of success in the ACC, however, while Lindsey has faced some weak competition in central Florida and has had issues with breaking stuff."

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - May 8th: "He's a football player without much high-level baseball experience, but he looks like a shortstop and is an 80 runner with Turner's frame. Lindsey's swing needs work but he doesn't have any worrisome swing flaws, so scouts can hang their hat on his makeup and that he might be the best athlete in the draft."
