Kash Mayfield
Ht/Wt: 6' 4"/200 lbs
Position: LHP
Team: Elk City HS (OK)

Kash Mayfield - Prospect Profile

Joel Reuter - Bleacher Report - July 7th: "The 6'4", 200-pound southpaw went from throwing in the upper 80s as a junior to bumping 97 mph this spring, and his secondary stuff has similarly ticked up. He turned 19 years old in February, which will scare some teams off."

Ayrton Ostly - USA Today - July 4th: "Mayfield is one of the top lefties in the draft with a fastball in the high 90s and arguably the best changeup in the class."

Baseball America - July 1st: "Mayfield stands 6-foot-4, 200 pounds and has a smooth and easy pitching motion with excellent body control, balance and athleticism. He throws with a clean arm action from a three-quarters slot with an operation that screams starter. After previously pitching in the upper 80s and touching 91 mph, Mayfield now throws a fastball that is consistently in the low to mid 90s and has been up to 97."

MLB.com - July 1st: "He already possesses an advanced changeup that parks in the low 80s and drops at the plate, making his heater even more effective. His slurvy upper-70s breaking ball stands out more for his ability to locate it than its power or shape."

Prospects Live - May 29th: "His mechanics are deceptive and funky, creating a tough angle to the plate and he hides the ball very well. The ease of his operation really stands out and there's a solid chance he sticks as a starter at the next level."

Keith Law - The Athletic - May 22nd: "Mayfield is 93-98 with an above-average slider and good feel for a changeup, with surprisingly low effort for that kind of arm strength. He also gets good ride on the four-seamer and repeats his delivery well enough to project future above-average command."
