Jurrangelo Cijntje - Prospect Profile

Joel Reuter - Bleacher Report - July 7th: "Cijntje has long been on the 2024 draft radar due to his unique profile as a switch pitcher. He is a legitimate first-round talent from the right side who has drawn comparisons to Marcus Stroman due in part to his undersized 5'11" frame, while offering more of a reliever profile while working from a low arm slot as a lefty."

Baseball America - July 1st: "Cijntje is a Curacao native listed at 5-foot-11, 200 pounds who began to focus more on his righthanded pitching in 2024. That is his stronger side, even though he is a natural lefthander. He posted a 3.67 ERA in 16 starts and 90.2 innings with a 29.9% strikeout rate."

MLB.com - July 1st: "From the right side, he operates with a 94-96 mph fastball that tops out at 98 with carry up in the zone, and he backs it up with a mid-80s slider that reaches 91 with good depth and a slightly harder changeup with fade. As a southpaw, he works from a low slot with a sweepier low-80s breaking ball and a low-90s heater that doesn't miss many bats."

Keith Law - The Athletic - May 22nd: "He is a better pitcher right-handed, and chooses to throw with that arm over 80 percent of the time, even if he doesn’t have the platoon advantage; the delivery is smoother and way more online to the plate, while he throws a bit harder right-handed and he has a more complete arsenal."

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - May 8th: "He throws left-handed for only a handful of hitters per game, but he's been dealing of late. At his best, he's up to 99 mph as a righty (and up to 92-93 mph from the left side) with the makings of a plus slider and an above-average changeup."
