Jonathan Santucci
Ht/Wt: 6' 2"/205 lbs
Position: LHP
Team: Duke

Jonathan Santucci - Prospect Profile

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - March 18th: "He had a fairly forgettable game in a highly-scouted matchup against Wake Forest two weeks ago, but he sits in the mid-90s with a riding fastball, shows a plus slider and has the makings of a solid changeup as well. If he keeps posting throughout the spring it’s hard to not see him going somewhere in the middle of the first round—or higher."

Joe Doyle - Future Star Series - March 18th: "The fastball features good riding shape up to 97, sitting 93-95 later in outings. His slider shows good depth and can be tough for hitters to read off his fastball with late, deep break."

MLB.com - March 8th: "Santucci misses a lot of bats with his 92-96 mph fastball, creating impressive carry and running action on a flat approach angle from a high arm slot. His low-80s slider can be a wipeout pitch with two-plane break at its best."

Keith Law - The Athletic - March 7th: "The fastball is 93-96 mph with above-average vertical break and run, while the slider is a traditional one with good tilt. Hitters just don’t hit the slider at all; data from Synergy Sports show a whiff rate of 51 percent on the pitch last spring and 66 percent so far this year."

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - February 23rd: "Santucci was the biggest arrow-up college pitcher of the opening weekend, delivering on preseason buzz and bouncing back from a fractured elbow. He has above-average stuff and starter traits, so posting each week will ensure that he lands in the top half of the first round."

Aram Leighton - Just Baseball - February 15th: "A good three pitch mix, Santucci’s fastball sits 92-94 MPH with some ride. His low 80s slider and mid 80s changeup both have the potential to be average or better offerings."
