Jared Thomas - Prospect Profile

Baseball America - July 1st: "Listed at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, Thomas has solid hitting chops and contact skills with a lefthanded swing that has a slight hitch in his hand load and can get a bit long at times but has yielded an 88% in-zone contact rate. He gets a bit aggressive with his swing decisions out of the zone at times, particularly against secondaries, but can handle top-end velocity and has a chance for average pure hitting ability and average raw power."

MLB.com - July 1st: "Thomas has good feel for the barrel and doesn't try to do too much at the plate, letting his pretty left-handed swing work for him. He has traded some contact for power this spring, hitting the ball harder and showing that he should be able to provide 15-20 homers per season."

Joe Doyle - Future Star Series - March 18th: "Thomas is a hitter first who doesn't strike out much and hits for some power, more in-game impact is on the way. His BP features emerging juice with natural loft and some flashes of big pull-side exit velos. He's been particularly effective in crushing breaking balls that are left in the strikezone."

MLB.com - March 8th: "Thomas has tremendous feel for the barrel and makes contact as easily as just about anyone in the college class. He doesn't try to do too much at the plate, letting his pretty left-handed swing work for him and using the entire field while controlling the strike zone."
