Bryce Rainer - Prospect Profile

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - March 18th: "Rainer might be the best shortstop in the 2024 draft class and there are scouts who prefer him on the mound. Whoever drafts and signs him will likely run him out as a hitter first since that appears to be Rainer’s preference."

Joe Doyle - Future Star Series - March 18th: "On the dirt, Rainer may ultimately grow off the shortstop position to third base, but his physical tools on the dirt stand out. He's a pure infielder with very good hands, actions and the ability to make every play in every direction."

MLB.com - March 8th: "Even if he has to move to third base, his easily plus arm plays there and he might have the right offensive profile. He has serious raw power to tap into from the left side, but his swing can get a little long with a tendency to wrap the bat behind his head."

Keith Law - The Athletic - March 7th: "Rainer could be a top-15 pick if a team thinks he’s going to hit, as he’s shown enough on defense to project to stay at short and potentially end up a plus defender there and he has raw power."

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - February 23rd: "The buzz is growing for Rainer, who also is a top few rounds prospect on the mound but doesn't seem that interested in pursuing pitching in pro ball. He might be a shortstop and has shown massive raw power early this spring."
