Billy Amick
Ht/Wt: 6' 1/220 lbs
Position: 3B
Team: Tennessee

Billy Amick - Prospect Profile

Joel Reuter - Bleacher Report - July 7th: "Amick hit .306/.387/.639 with 23 home runs and 65 RBI this spring, and he fits the profile of a productive, high-floor college bat who might sign for a bit below slot value."

Ayrton Ostly - USA Today - July 4th: "Amick was part of the NCAA's best offense last season and finished tied for second on the Volunteers with 23 home runs. That raw power will likely translate to the majors but he'll need to develop more consistency."

Baseball America - July 1st: "Amick is a powerfully built, 6-foot-1, 217-pound righthanded hitter with fierce bat speed and a clean path through the zone with a slight uppercut that creates plenty of fly balls. He has a simple setup with minimal movement—and he also features a spread-out stance and no leg kick in two-strike counts—but Amick has a solidly power-over-hit offensive profile."

MLB.com - July 1st: "His aggressive approach yields hard contact to all fields but does cut into his walk totals. His bat speed and strength create plus raw power that plays all over the ballpark and should translate into 20-25 homers per season."

Keith Law - The Athletic - May 22nd: "Amick has had a huge year for Tennessee but he’s more power than hit, with poor offspeed recognition and a huge tendency to chase stuff out of the zone, especially with two strikes. Amick transferred to Knoxville from Clemson and has played third base for the Vols, where he’s a fringy defender."
