Sam Bachman
Ht/Wt: 6' 1"/235 lbs
Position: RHP
Team: Miami (OH)

Sam Bachman - Prospect Profile

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - June 18: "It’s a hard, biting pitch that is routinely in the upper 80s and has eclipsed 90 mph plenty of times, with tremendous late life that generates whiffs inside the zone and out of it—mostly down and to his glove side. Both pitches grade out as at least 70s and there are scouts in the industry who have put 80 grades on both as well."

MLB - June: "After working at 91-94 mph for much of his first two college seasons, Bachman now sits at 94-97 and hits 101 with plenty of armside run and sink. His slider also has gained more power, operating in the mid-80s with nastier bite and destroys left-handers and right-handers alike."

Prospects Live - May 31: "Big, strong-bodied righty with a high-90's fastball that's touched 101 in-game. Bachman comfortably sits 96-99 in-game. High-80s slider, up to 92 this spring that really disappears against righties. Bachman has the potential for two 70-grade pitches out of a rotation."

Prospects Live - Mar. 18: "Bachman has been up into triple-digits with his heavy fastball this season, complimented by a wipeout slider into the lower-90s. It’s a long, funky arm action coming from a low, short-arm slot that’s tough for hitters to pick up."

R.J. Anderson - CBS Sports - Feb. 15th: "He showed improved control last season, too, even if it was in a small sample. That's important because the biggest problem facing him is his delivery. He has a Q-tip arm action that would seem unlikely to withstand a starter's workload."
