Jud Fabian
Ht/Wt: 6' 1"/190 lbs
Position: OF
Team: Florida

Jud Fabian - Prospect Profile

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - June 18: "Fabian does have solid bat speed and plus raw power that has translated mostly to the pull side, but he’s hit a few impressive homers over the right-field fence as well. A righthanded hitter and lefthanded thrower, Fabian should have no issues handling center field and playing it at a high level defensively at the next level."

MLB - June: "There’s been some swing-and-miss in his game in the past, but he started having better at-bats more consistently last year and over the summer with bat speed that reminded some of Mookie Betts, his strikeout rate spiked early in 2021. The power was still showing up, but he struggled with adjusting to breaking stuff."

Prospects Live - May 31: "Folks drool over the bat speed and athletic body. Fabian has five-tool potential as he's an above average runner with a good arm and he's every bit a 60-grade raw power guy. He’s also more than likely a true centerfielder at the next level."

Prospects Live - Mar. 18: "Fabian was among the highest profile bats entering the 2021 season, but he’s sputtered out of the gate. The strikeouts and swing-and-miss in his game have been amplified a bit this season, and it’s something he’ll need to curb should he hope to work his way back up draft boards."

Michael Dault - Through The Fence Baseball - Mar. 13th: "A natural hitter with more hit ability than power, Fabian wowed scouts with his ability to hit to all fields and his maturity at the plate. In the wood bat leagues, he never laid off the gas."

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - Feb. 26th: "Fabian has 65-grade raw power and is solid-average defensively in center field, with gaudy Cape numbers from two summers ago, but really struggled versus breaking stuff opening weekend."

R.J. Anderson - CBS Sports - Feb. 15th: "The most curious aspect of Fabian's game is that he bats righty and throws left; he's a "wrong-way guy" in scouting parlance. Whether it's a coincidence borne from a small sample, or a product of a deemphasized dominant hand, history hasn't been kind to the profile."

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - Jan. 26th: "He’s shown an ability to handle premium velocity, but some scouts noticed he struggled against breaking stuff when opposing pitchers adjusted to him. Making that adjustment himself to avoid being exposed will be another factor scouts are watching."

Ian Smith - Prospects 365 - Nov. 8: "A short, compact right-handed swing with elite hands in the box that allows him to tap into every ounce of his 55+ grade raw power. Tools to stick in center field, with a plus arm and above average speed."
