Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - June 18: "Allen impressed evaluators with his ability to drive the ball to both sides of the field this spring, against solid pitching, and those who believe in his bat think he has a chance to add solid power in the future as he fills out a 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame. While Allen has turned in plus run times in the past, some scouts were surprised with the lack of explosion Allen showed in the run times they got on the stopwatch this spring."

MLB - June: "The 6-foot-3 right-handed hitter has the chance to hit, and with power. Scouts like his swing and he’s likely to add strength to his super-athletic frame, pointing to a lot of extra pop. There has been some swing and miss, but this spring he was showing a better ability at staying balanced, driving the ball the other way and not chasing breaking stuff out of the zone."
