Harry Ford
Ht/Wt: 5'10"/205 lbs
Position: C
Team: North Cobb HS (GA)

Harry Ford - Prospect Profile

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - June 18: "Offensively, Ford has plenty of bat speed and lots of natural strength in a compact, 5-foot-10, 200-pound frame. Ford has shown solid bat-to-ball skills and barrel awareness in the past, but some evaluators think he’ll be more of a power-over-hit offensive player in the future thanks to a low handset and a hook in his swing that could limit him."

MLB - June: "Ford features some of the best bat speed in the high school class and has a track record of making loud contact against quality pitching, though he sometimes tries to do too much at the plate. He's also strong and has good leverage in his right-handed swing, so he has all of the ingredients to have average or better power."

Prospects Live - May 31: "His lack of a bat wrap is noticeable, but it's akin to Edwin Encarnacion. His twitch and explosion more than makes up for the lack of stretch at the plate. Behind the plate, Ford is quick out of his crouch, and moves with smooth, fluid motions."

Prospects Live - Mar. 18: "Explosive out of the crouch with a near-plus arm and legitimate potential to stick behind the plate, Ford gets high marks all over the diamond. But the real key to his ceiling will be the bat."

Michael Dault - Through The Fence Baseball - Mar. 13th: "His bat speed is among the best in the class. He has a smooth stroke and is as athletic as they come at the backstop."

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - Feb. 26th: "Prep catchers are a scary demographic, but Ford is above average across the board, with athleticism to give him some margin for error."

R.J. Anderson - CBS Sports - Feb. 15th: "Ford, blessed with twitchiness and innate hand-eye skills, is a compelling candidate to do it. He's going to require developmental work on both ends (his hands have a tendency to separate during his load) but there's a lot of upside here, perhaps in a Daulton Varsho-like capacity."

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - Jan. 26th: "Scouts believe that athleticism will allow him to handle the physical demands of catching, but want to see him refine the detailed areas of the defensive game to pair it with above-average arm strength."

Ian Smith - Prospects 365 - Nov. 8: "Ford is one of the more tooled players in the entire prep class. Grading out plus with his power, arm, glove and even speed, as he’s a 6.5 runner in the 60. Hit tool is currently a 50 from a compact, quiet approach from the right side."
