Andrew Painter
Ht/Wt: 6' 7"/215 lbs
Position: RHP
Team: Calvary Christian Academy (FL)

Andrew Painter - Prospect Profile

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - June 18: "Painter is a 6-foot-6, 230-pound righty with a buttery smooth delivery and a tremendously loose, easy arm action that should give him above-average or plus command in the future. It’s rare to put 60-grade control on a prep arm, but some scouts have even gone as far as putting 70 grades on his future control."

MLB - June: "Painter delivers a legitimate four-pitch mix from a 6-foot-6 frame and has a very advanced feel for his gameplan on the mound. He typically sits in the 93-95 mph range and touches 96 with his fastball. He utilizes both a two- and four-seamer and likes to elevate to get swings and misses up in the zone."

Prospects Live - May 31: "Tall projectable right-hander with room to add good weight. Fluid arm action, clean but long, from a three -quarters slot. Easy delivery, low effort mechanics, showing ability to repeat. Fastball has been up to 97, ordinarily sitting 93-96. "

Prospects Live - Mar. 18: "Still a tremendous arm talent with a fastball that sits mid-90s with good shape and ride. A four pitch mix with projection remaining in all of his secondaries, there’s tremendous upside."

Michael Dault - Through The Fence Baseball - Mar. 13th: "Painter is 6’6? and is one of the most athletic pitchers in this year’s crop. It also can be said it’s a weaker pitching class after Rocker and Leiter, so Painter could slide just about anywhere in the front half of the first round."

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - Feb. 26th: "Painter had mid-first-round performances this summer, with above-average stuff and a mid-rotation look, but was hit around in his first outing of the spring."

R.J. Anderson - CBS Sports - Feb. 15th: "He's listed at a projectable 6-foot-7, 230 pounds, and he has a history of throwing strikes with a varied repertoire, including a heater that can touch into the mid-90s and a promising curveball. As with the average high-school arm, his future employer will have to work with him on his mechanics."

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - Jan. 26th: "Of all the players on this list, Painter might be the toughest to find a true area of weakness to suss out. He’s a complete prep pitching prospect that checks most boxes scouts want to see with a projectable frame, loose and easy arm action, four-pitch mix and potential for above-average control."

Ian Smith - Prospects 365 - Nov. 8: "Painter stands a massive 6-foot-7 frame with a heavy mid 90s fastball that touched 97 this past summer with potential for even more down the road. True starter repertoire with a slider, curveball and changeup that all show to be above average to plus pitches at peak."
