Position: RHP
Team: Miami

Slade Cecconi - Prospect Profile

SMLB.com - May : "Cecconi can be up in the zone too much and gets hit, especially when his velo declines. He throws two breaking balls, with his slider the better of the two, especially when he throws it hard, up to 87 mph. Then it's like a hard cutter with late action and power to it, but he has some arm action issues with it when it's slower and he can get around it at times."

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - May 13th: "At his best he runs his fastball up into the upper 90s with impressive life and has a slider, cutter and changeup that all flash plus. On top of the quality of Cecconi’s pitches, scouts like his frame and strike-throwing ability but believe he gets too much of the plate at times."

Kiley McDaniel - ESPN - May 13th: "Cecconi picked the right time to regain the form of his 2017 summer showcase highs, pitching well for a heavily scouted Miami club this spring."

Ian Smith - Prospect 365 - Apr. 26th: "Cecconi possesses a starter’s frame and delivery, an upper-90s fastball, and a holistic arsenal that boasts three pitches that all flash plus. At times, the right-hander throws too many strikes and allows damage inflicted by opposing hitters."

Athlon Sports - Mar. 10th: "Cecconi had a solid freshman season with Miami, but bigger things are expected for 2020 thanks to his big fastball and promising breaking ball."

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - Jan. 31st : "Cecconi has shown top-of-the-rotation stuff in the past, with a fastball that’s gotten up to 98 mph with impressive life, in addition to multiple breaking balls and a solid changeup. "
