Max Meyer
Ht/Wt: 6' 0"/165 lbs
Position: RHP
Team: Minnesota

Max Meyer - Prospect Profile

MLB.com - April: "His four-seam fastball is a weapon as well, clocked as high as 98 in short stints and parking at 93-95 when he starts. His changeup is making progress but he hasn't needed it much in college. There are questions as to whether Meyer can start at the highest level, mainly coming because he's a lean 6-footer."

Prospects Live - Mar. 24th: "He is still learning to throw a changeup that has flashed average but sits fringe and his slight 6 foot, 185-pound frame draws durability concerns. That said, Meyer sat 97-99 with his fastball this year early in starts and held mid 90s velocity deep into games."

James Weisser - Off The Bench Baseball - Mar. 23rd: "Max Meyer has been one of the best pitchers in the Big Ten since he began his college career."

Dan Zielinki - Baseball Prospect Journal - Mar. 22nd: "But after he thrived in his four starts this spring, posting a 1.95 ERA with 46 strikeouts and eight walks in 27 2/3 innings, he’s improved his draft stock. He throws a fastball that reaches triple digits and a devastating slider despite being slightly undersized at 6-0, 185 pounds."

Keith Law - The Athletic - Mar. 16th: "Meyer has hit 101 as a starter, with a slider that’s been up to 93, and the delivery works — so even though he’s a sub-six-foot right-hander."

JJ Cooper - Athlon Sports - Mar. 10th: "He is a two-way player, but his future in pro ball is on the mound. He is an undersized (6'0", 185 pounds) righthander, but his 93-97 mph fastball can be dominating."

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - Jan. 31st : "This year, he’ll take over the Friday starter role and look for his mid-to-upper-90s fastball and power slider to hold up over longer outings. Meyer’s power slider is one of the best in the country and unique among amateur pitchers in its ability to hover around 89 mph."
