MLB.com - May : "Jones will show three usable pitches, though he's more arm strength than pitchability at this point in his young career. But there's plenty of arm to like, with a fastball that is up to 96-97 mph on a consistent basis, thrown with good tail. He'll flash a solid slider that he adds and subtracts from, but it's at its best when it's the harder 80-82 mph version of the pitch and not the more slurvy 74-78 mph offering."

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - May 13th: " Jones is slightly undersized and has an effortful delivery, leading some evaluators to project him to the bullpen. His improving command and elite competitiveness lead others to believe he can start."

Fast forward a few months, and Jones has looked better this spring, and is starting to rise a little bit for everyone else, to the point this is no longer a slight reach for a talented lottery ticket."
