Ian Seymour - Prospect Profile
MLB.com - May : "Seymour isn’t the biggest guy in the world at six-feet, but his stuff took a nice step forward at the start of the spring. After throwing mostly in the 88-90 mph range during a successful stint in the Cape Cod League last summer, the southpaw came out throwing his fastball in the 90-94 range and sitting 92-93 mph consistently."Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - May 13th: "As for stuff, Seymour has a solid three-pitch mix, including an average fastball that touches 94, a hard slider/cutter that is developing but should be effective at the next level, and a changeup that flashes plus. Entering the year, scouts were concerned that Seymour might be a reliever, thanks to a below-average operation."Prospects Live - Mar. 24th: "A shorter lefty with a strong broad shoulder frame and a quirky delivery, Seymour is by no means a specimen but he has a high pitchability component to his game that produces results. His fastball velocity has trended up year over year since entering the collegiate ranks."
JJ Cooper - Athlon Sports - Mar. 10th: "Seymour has three pitches — a low-90s fastball, a slider and a changeup. All three work well on their best days, but scouts are going to be looking to see him show consistency and durability in his draft year."
Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - Jan. 31st : "He has solid stuff with a fastball that touches 94-95 and a hard slider, but some scouts think there’s reliever risk thanks to a below-average delivery."
