Emerson Hancock - Prospect Profile

Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - June 21st: "Over 14 starts, he recorded a 1.99 ERA with 97 strikeouts in 90.1 innings and walked just 18 hitters. Hancock has potential plus pitches across the board, headlined by a fastball that reaches the upper 90s and a putaway slider."

David Schoenfield - ESPN - June 10th: "At this point, he's still more potential than polish, as he fanned barely a batter an inning. Compare that to Casey Mize, the top overall pick in 2018, also out of the SEC. Mize fanned 156 in 114? innings. Hancock throws harder than Mize and does throw strikes, so it's probably more an issue of improving his command and offspeed pitches."

Jim Callis - MLB.com - June 10th: "Teams will monitor his health closely after he missed two starts with a lat injury this spring and his command slipped afterward, but he runs his fastball up to 98 mph, has a potential out pitch in his slider and possesses two more effective offerings in his changeup and curveball."

Dan Zielinski III - Baseball Prospect Journal - June : "Hancock is a 6-foot-4, 215-pound righty who has a mid-90s fastball, solid curveball and a changeup. He has an advanced feel for pitching and respectable command. He has frontline starter potential."
