Daniel Cabrera - Prospect Profile
MLB.com - May : "Cabrera is equipped to hit for average and power. He has a smooth left-handed swing and doesn't try to do too much at the plate, letting his bat speed and the loft in his stroke create natural pop. He commanded the strike zone well as a freshman and less so as a sophomore, when he was hampered by a right wrist injury."Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - May 13th: "There aren’t many moving parts in Cabrera’s swing. It’s simple and easy and, like his prep days, he’s still capable of hitting the ball to all fields, which has helped him stay consistent. While his raw power is more above-average than plus, and mostly to the pull side, he’s the sort of hitter scouts believe will tap into everything he has during games."
Ian Smith - Prospect 365 - Apr. 26th: "Cabrera doesn’t blow you away in any facet of his game, but his hit tool could reach plus at peak, and you can’t find anything within the profile that grades worse than average. Cabrera is a highly advanced outfielder out of LSU with a pretty left-handed swing that explodes through the zone and get easy natural loft to all fields."
Dan Zielinki - Baseball Prospect Journal - Mar. 22nd: "He has a simple swing and an advanced approach at the plate that allows him to be an impact bat. He has solid power from the left side of the plate. He profiles as a corner outfielder."
Athlon Sports - Mar. 10th: "He has a very simple swing that should not require much maintenance or tweaking."
Prospects Live - Mar. 24th: "Cabrera has a very smooth swing with great bat speed. And while he’s aggressive at the plate, he rarely tries to do too much. His simplicity may limit his power a bit, but I’m personally in the camp that believes Cabrera has a decent bit of raw power left in him."
Dan Zielinki - Baseball Prospect Journal - Mar. 22nd: "He has a simple swing and an advanced approach at the plate that allows him to be an impact bat. He has solid power from the left side of the plate. He profiles as a corner outfielder."
JJ Cooper - Athlon Sports - Mar. 10th: "He has a very simple swing that should not require much maintenance or tweaking."
Carlos Collazo - Baseball America - Jan. 31st : "A bat-first outfielder with a simple swing, solid power and high baseball IQ, scouts have admired Cabrera’s offensive skill dating back to his prep days. "
