Walker Buehler's Player Profile

Buehler is yet another promising right-hander from Vanderbilt, who has given the Commodores a dynamic one-two punch atop their rotation this season along with Carson Fulmer. Buehler has similar stuff but comes in a different package.

Walker starts off with a fastball that is consistently clocked in the mid 90s and features good life. He’s thrown his curveball more than his slider this spring and it’s a potential plus pitch around 80 mph with hard bite. His changeup could give him yet another potential plus pitch with sink and fade.

The righty won’t turn 21 until after the draft, which gives teams hope that he’ll fill out his extremely narrow 6’1, 165 lbs frame. He suffered an elbow strain early in the spring but has come back healthy and had no further setbacks. If a team believes he’s durable, he could land himself in the top half of the first round.
