Kyle Schwarber's Player Profile

Hit/On-base – Schwarber has some swing and miss to his game, but he also does a very good job of working counts into his favor and for a power hitter, he has a very linear swing that should allow him to hit for average as well, though there is some swing and miss in his bat.

Power – Schwarber has plenty of strength and plus raw power to the pull side, capable of hitting 30+ homers if he can play every day.

Speed – It’s not a part of Schwarber’s game.

Glove– Schwarber works hard behind the plate, but I don’t see the tools necessary to stick behind the plate. He has average arm strength and a release that isn’t quick enough to compensate for it, and he’s not athletic enough to make the tough play often enough. He should be competent at first and maybe you could get away with having him catch 40-50 games, but he’s not an everyday backstop.
