Alex Verdugo's Player Profile

Hit / On-base – Verdugo has an advanced feel for hitting; possessing a quick, line drive stroke that stays through the zone. He’s also one of the few prep hitters who showed the ability to hit the ball with authority the other way.

Power – Verdugo is more of a gap to gap hitter right now, but as he gets stronger average power numbers are not out of the question, as he does transfer his weight well and has solid bat speed.

Speed – Verdugo is an above-average runner and smart on the bases and reads pitchers well, and is capable of stealing 20 or more bases.

Glove – Verdugo has a very strong arm – more on that later – but projects more as a right-fielder at the next level, though I could see a club giving him a chance to play center at the professional level. Either the way, the bat profiles in center or right, but if he could play center that increases the value substantially.
